Ok, why the name Rascal Wedge? Rascal is actually an acronym that give a nod to both the construction of the wedge and the family behind it. Ask me in-person at the next trade show or training seminar and I'll be glad to tell you what it means.
Why is it only available in red and orange? It's not! We've also added Rescue Blue and Tactical Black to the color lineup. Have a favorite color you'd like to see? Drop us a line here and let us know.
How strong is it? We balanced strength, functionality, and weight when designing the Rascal Wedge, keeping it the same weight as a wooden chock, just a whole lot more useful. Made of high-strength aluminum and built with a trussed design, it's a tough tool, and its strength is best described as being between a wooden door chock and a solid forcible entry wedge.
It's best to think of the Rascal Wedge as a precision tool instead of something you should beat on. Why? All those openings that make it "A Toolbox On Your Helmet" can become deformed if it's hit too hard. So, remember, if using it for forcible entry, do the forcing with your Halligan and hold progress with the Rascal Wedge.
